Gov. Okpebholo to Present 54 Construction Equipment to Edo LGs

The Executive Governor of Edo Sate Sen. Monday Okpebholo will on Thursday unveil 54 units of construction equipment for the 18 Local Government Councils in Edo State, in a move aimed at strengthening grassroots infrastructure delivery.

The presentation, scheduled to hold in Benin City, reflects the administration’s focus on practical governance and local capacity building.

The equipment—comprising graders, excavators, rollers, and other heavy-duty machines—is expected to enhance road construction, rural access projects, drainage rehabilitation, and other community-based infrastructure works. By equipping councils directly, the state government seeks to accelerate development and minimize administrative delays.

The commissioning will be performed by the Honourable Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, and is expected to attract top government officials, political leaders, traditional rulers, and community stakeholders.
