APC Picks Eribo as Egor Chairmanship Candidate Ahead of June Poll

Egor, Edo State — The Acting Chairman of Egor Local Government Council, Hon. Osaro Osa Eribo, has emerged as the All Progressives Congress (APC) flag bearer for the forthcoming local government elections slated for June 2026.

Eribo secured the ticket unopposed during the party’s chairmanship primaries conducted across the ten wards of the local government area, in what party stakeholders described as a demonstration of unity and consensus.

The primary election was widely adjudged peaceful, transparent, and orderly, with party members turning out in significant numbers to participate in the process. Observers commended the conduct of the exercise, noting its credibility and absence of disputes.

In his acceptance remarks, Eribo expressed appreciation to the leadership of the APC for providing a level playing field for all aspirants. He also acknowledged the support of the Edo State Governor, Senator Monday Okpebholo, for creating an enabling environment for a free and fair primary.

The APC candidate pledged to prioritize inclusive governance, grassroots development, and sustained progress in Egor Local Government Area if elected. He urged party members and residents to remain united in the build-up to the elections.

Party leaders and supporters have since expressed confidence in Eribo’s candidacy, describing his emergence as a strategic step toward consolidating development efforts and securing victory for the APC in the June polls.
