The Executive Chairman of Egor Local Government Council, Rt. Hon. Osaro Osa Eribo JP, has taken his administration’s people-first governance agenda closer to the grassroots, holding a town hall meeting with members of ANNEWAT as part of efforts to deepen community participation in the affairs of the local government.

The engagement offered members of the association an opportunity to engage the council chairman directly, raise issues affecting their communities and make recommendations on areas requiring government attention.

Speaking during the meeting, Eribo reaffirmed that his administration would continue to place residents at the centre of its policies and programmes, stressing that governance must be driven by the needs and aspirations of the people.

The chairman said meaningful development could not be achieved by government acting alone, but required sustained dialogue and cooperation between the council, community organisations, residents and other stakeholders.

He therefore encouraged community-based organisations to remain active partners in the development process, noting that their proximity to the people gives them an important role in identifying challenges and proposing practical solutions.

Eribo also reiterated his administration’s commitment to an open-door policy, assuring residents and stakeholder groups that the council would remain accessible to constructive contributions capable of advancing the interests of Egor.

The meeting further underscored the administration’s emphasis on participatory governance, with the chairman assuring the participants that issues raised during the engagement would receive appropriate attention.

For the Eribo administration, the town hall was not merely another stakeholder meeting but part of an emerging effort to bridge the gap between the local government and the communities it serves.

The chairman maintained that Egor’s development must be people-driven, with residents having a voice in the policies and programmes designed to improve their communities.

The administration’s message remains succinct: Egor First. People First.
