KWANKWASO PREDICTS OBI’S VICTORY IN 2027

Leader of the Kwankwasiyya Movement and running mate to the presidential candidate of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Senator Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, has expressed confidence that Peter Obi will emerge victorious in the 2027 presidential election.

Kwankwaso made the declaration on Friday during the affirmation of consensus candidates of the party in Kano State, describing Obi as the party’s standard-bearer and future president.

“I’m talking about Peter Obi. He will be flying our flag and, by the grace of God, on May 29, exactly one year from now, he will have been sworn in as the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria,” Kwankwaso said.

The former Kano State governor described the affirmation exercise as a historic milestone for the party, noting that the peaceful emergence of consensus candidates reflected the unity and maturity of members across the state.

He commended party leaders, elders and supporters for ensuring a smooth and transparent process in all constituencies.

According to him, several constituencies had more than 10 aspirants vying for tickets, but stakeholders successfully resolved differences and agreed on candidates through consensus.

At the event, former Kano State Deputy Governor, Comrade Abdulsalam Gwarzo, was affirmed as the party’s governorship candidate, while Dr. Nasiru Yusuf Gawuna emerged as the senatorial candidate for Kano Central.

Candidates for the House of Representatives, State House of Assembly and other senatorial districts were also affirmed.

Kwankwaso expressed appreciation to members of the Kwankwasiyya Movement, CRC, Lafiya Jari groups and the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) for their support and commitment throughout the exercise.

Earlier, Chairman of the Party’s Primaries Committee, Mainasara Abubakar Sani, praised members for their cooperation, saying reports from across the state indicated that the process was peaceful and successful.

“We have received reports that the exercise was conducted successfully and peacefully. Kano members made our work easier,” Sani said.

Speaking shortly after his affirmation, Gwarzo pledged to run an open-door administration if elected governor in 2027. He also urged youths to remain dedicated to the movement and continue mobilising support for the party ahead of the elections.
