Bursary Award: Edo Commissioner for Education, Iyamu celebrates Gov. Okpebholo
Benin City- The Edo State Commissioner for Education, Dr. Paddy Emmanuel Iyamu, has celebrated Governor Senator Monday Okpebholo’s approval of a ₦1 billion annual bursary for tertiary institution students in the state.
Dr. Iyamu described the bursary scheme as a landmark initiative that showcases Governor Okpebholo’s commitment to securing the future of Edo State’s youth.
The commissioner emphasized that the bursary scheme is not just an investment in education but a direct investment in the human capital, dreams, and destinies of thousands of young men and women in Edo State.
“The Okpebholo-led administration is prioritizing education as the cornerstone of sustainable development and social upliftment, with initiatives like the bursary scheme and NELFUND program aimed at easing tuition and financial barriers to learning.
Dr. Iyamu stressed that the bursary scheme ensures no Edo child is left behind academically, promoting academic excellence, innovation, and national impact.
The commissioner urged students to renew their commitment to academic pursuits and support the governor’s administration. He also called on parents and stakeholders in the education sector to support the administration’s efforts to create a greater, smarter, and more prosperous Edo State.
