Benin City-The Edo State Government has announced the redeployment of the Managing Director of the Edo Broadcasting Service (EBS), Mr. Suleiman Aledeh, to the Edo State Orientation Agency, where he will serve as the pioneer Director-General with immediate effect.

A statement signed by the Secretary to the State Government, Mr. Umar Musa Ikhilor, Esq., said Governor Senator Monday Okpebholo approved the redeployment as part of ongoing administrative reforms aimed at enhancing efficiency, strengthening institutions, and optimizing resource management across key sectors of government.

According to the statement, Mr. Festus Alenkhe has been appointed Acting Managing Director of the Edo Broadcasting Service to oversee the affairs of the station pending the appointment of a substantive Managing Director.

The government noted that the redeployment reflects Governor Okpebholo’s confidence in Aledeh’s professional competence and capacity to drive the mandate of the Edo State Orientation Agency, which plays a critical role in civic education, public engagement, value reorientation, and government communication.

The statement further commended Aledeh for his contributions to public service broadcasting and institutional development during his tenure at EBS, describing his service as impactful and dedicated.

“The Edo State Government appreciates Mr. Aledeh’s commitment and outstanding contributions to the broadcasting sector and wishes him success in his new assignment,” the statement said.

On Alenkhe’s appointment, the government stated that the move is intended to ensure seamless leadership transition and operational continuity at EBS.

The statement expressed confidence in the Acting Managing Director’s ability to sustain the station’s professional standards and maintain quality service delivery while awaiting the appointment of a substantive head.

The appointments take immediate effect.
