Gov Okpebholo Felicitates Muslims on Eid-el-Kabir Celebration
Benin City-The Governor of Edo State, Monday Okpebholo, has felicitated with Muslims in Edo State and across Nigeria on the occasion of this year’s Eid-el-Kabir celebration, urging them to uphold the virtues of sacrifice, obedience, love and peaceful coexistence as exemplified by Prophet Ibrahim.
Governor Okpebholo described Eid-el-Kabir as a period of deep reflection, devotion and submission to the will of Almighty Allah, noting that the lessons of the festival should inspire citizens to work collectively for peace, unity and sustainable development in Edo State and the country at large.
He commended the Muslim faithful in Edo State for their prayers, support and contributions towards the growth and stability of the state, assuring them of his administration’s commitment to inclusive governance, infrastructural development and improved welfare for all residents.
The governor called on citizens to use the festive period to promote harmony, extend kindness to the less privileged and strengthen the bonds of brotherhood irrespective of ethnic or religious differences.
He further urged Edo people to continue supporting government efforts aimed at building a prosperous and secure state, while praying for Allah’s guidance, mercy and abundant blessings upon Edo State and Nigeria.
“On behalf of the Government and good people of Edo State, I warmly felicitate with our Muslim brothers and sisters on the celebration of Eid-el-Kabir. May Allah accept our sacrifices and reward our acts of worship,” the governor stated.
