Okpebholo Hails Edo Assembly for Strong Synergy, Credits Unity for Development Gains
Irrua-The Edo State Governor, Monday Okpebholo, has commended members of the Edo State House of Assembly (EDHA) for maintaining a harmonious working relationship with the Executive arm, attributing the administration’s achievements over the past year to sustained cooperation and unity.
Governor Okpebholo gave the commendation while receiving the Speaker of the House, Blessing Agbebaku, alongside principal officers and other lawmakers during an Easter visit to his residence in Irrua, Esan Central Local Government Area.
Speaking on behalf of the 24-member Assembly, Agbebaku reaffirmed the legislature’s unwavering support for the policies and programmes of the Okpebholo administration, stressing its commitment to ensuring the delivery of campaign promises to the people of Edo State.
“We are here to celebrate Easter with you and to commend your administration for the impactful work being done for Edo people,” the Speaker said. “As a House, we will continue to support you and ensure that all budgets presented are thoroughly considered and duly approved to facilitate the full implementation of the SHINE agenda.”
He further lauded the administration’s infrastructural strides, noting that the ongoing construction of the state’s first flyover would remain a landmark achievement in Edo’s history.
Agbebaku also assured the Governor of sustained collaboration between both arms of government, emphasizing that such synergy remains critical to advancing the state’s development.
In his response, Governor Okpebholo expressed appreciation to the lawmakers for fostering a peaceful and cooperative governance environment, which he said has enabled his administration to make significant progress, particularly in infrastructure.
“Since assuming office in November 2024, the Assembly has created a conducive atmosphere for governance, allowing us to implement policies that are driving the state forward,” he said.
The Governor noted that the cordial relationship between the Executive and Legislature has strengthened unity in governance and translated into tangible results for residents.
“We have achieved much because we are working together in unity. This collaboration has produced visible outcomes, and I urge you to sustain this synergy as we move forward,” he added.
He reiterated that a united legislature remains vital to effective governance, stressing that cooperation between both arms will continue to yield positive dividends for the people of Edo State.
