Egor Council Boss Advocates Inclusion on World Autism Awareness Day
The Chairman of Egor Local Government Council, Hon. Osaro Osa Eribo, has called for increased awareness, understanding, and inclusion of persons living with autism, as the world marks World Autism Awareness Day.
In a statement to commemorate the day, Eribo said the occasion serves as a reminder of the need to embrace diversity and promote a society where every individual, regardless of their abilities, is valued, respected, and given equal opportunities to thrive.

He described autism not as a limitation, but as a different way individuals experience and interact with the world, stressing the importance of shifting societal attitudes towards acceptance and support.
The council chairman reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to fostering an inclusive environment for children and adults on the autism spectrum through sustained awareness, acceptance, and improved access to essential resources and opportunities.
Eribo urged residents of Egor Local Government Area to show love, patience, and support to individuals living with autism and their families, noting that collective action is key to breaking stigma and promoting social inclusion.
He emphasized that building a compassionate and understanding society requires the cooperation of all stakeholders, adding that no one should be left behind in the drive for development.
The chairman concluded by calling for continued collaboration among residents to create a more inclusive community, in line with the spirit of World Autism Awareness Day.
