The Dr.Osahon Enabulele Foundation which was officially launched in January 29, 2025 has celebrated it’s one year anniversary rolling out successes recorded in Education, access to qualify Healthcare , promotion of excellence in leadership, good governance and humanitarian services.

The one year anniversary celebration which kicked off on the 28th of January, 2026 with a medical outreach, where thousands of Uselu residents benefited from free medical services was held in Doctors house in Ugbowo, Benin City.
Addressing newsmen in a Press conference before the roundtable section, the director general of the Foundation, Dr. Osahon Enabulele disclosed how the foundation has kept it’s core values and mandate to reach the vulnerable in the society.
He said that the foundation’s desire to focus on Education, Healthcare and promotion of Excellence in leadership positions is borne out of the gaps observed in the sectors .over the years.

According to him, the foundation started it’s journey by organizing debate competition for secondary schools in the 18 LGA in Edo State.
“Eghosa Anglican Secondary school emerged the over-all winner with Idia College and Annunciation Catholic College, Irua, clinched Second and third positions respectively”
The foundation has continued to champion academic excellence and rewarding outstanding academic performance with Awards including cash prizes to distinction students both at the secondary and tertiary levels.
” The Foundation has further instituted Prize Awards for the best graduating Medical and best graduating Dental, Anatomy , Physiology and Medical Biochemistry Students of University of Benin”.

He further stressed that in this one year of it’s existence, the foundation has not relented in his commitment in ensuring qualify access to health care for Edo people.
Welcoming participants to the ceremony, the Chairman of the occasion, former Chief Judge of Edo State, Hon Cronwell Idahosa commended the success stories of the foundation and canvassed for more collaboration from private organizations, government institutions and welk meaning Nigerians.
He noted that the bearer’s vision is in consonance with the Nigeria of our dream were excellence leads in all sectors.
The Chief Medical Director, (CMD) UBTH, Prof. Idia Ize Iyamu in her address commended Dr Osahon Enabulele Foundation for the success recorded in one year and wished him and his foundation many years of impactful services to humanity.
She noted that the foundation activities in providing youth empowerment, community services and humanitarian services is complementing what the government is doing and as such needs to be supported.
Speaking on the Overview of Healthcare Financing in Nigeria, the guest speaker ,Dr. Alphonsus Aigbiremole noted that to improve Basic Healthcare Provision Fund, strategic funding mechanism must be put in place for access to primary health care services in Nigeria.
“Basic Healthcare Provision Funding provides a framework to improve health care financing expercially for the Public Health Care system in Nigeria”.
” The initiative,if sustained may prove to be the game changer in Nigeria grassroots health care service delivery in the near future”.
According to him, government budget for health should be increased to 15% declaration of Abuja target.
He also added that stakeholders in the health sector should strengthen donor coordination alongside with improve transparency and accountability.
The anniversary which was well attended by the academic community had two reputable doctors as guest speakers and a panel section anchored by Dr. Wilson Emorgan who shed light on the challenges in the health sector and recommended the way forward.
On his part, Barr. Osaigie Obayuwana dwell on the Citizens right to qualify Healthcare services.
He emphasized that it is the right of the Citizens to demand for qualify Healthcare services from the government.
Highpoint of the event was the presentation of Awards and goodwill messages from friends, colleagues and associates of Dr. Osahon Enabulele.
The Foundation also honoured deserving members of the Foundation for their meritorious services.Those honoured includes Dr Edosa Iyayi, Mr Celestine Anetekha, Mercy Akuba Onyenweli, Amarachi Eguojie, and Favour-Percy Idunor.
