Benin City— The Governor of Edo State, Senator Monday Okpebholo, has approved the appointment of Dr. Amen Ogbemudia as the new Director-General of the Directorate of Education Quality Assurance (DEQA). The announcement was made public through a government statement signed by the Secretary to the State Government, Umar Musa Ikhilor, Esq.
According to the statement, Dr. Ogbemudia brings over a decade of professional experience in educational management and administration to her new role. A highly qualified educationist, she holds a B.Sc. Ed in Accounting from Benson Idahosa University, and both a Master’s and Ph.D. in Educational Management and Administration from the University of Benin.
Described as a creative and skilled writer, capacity builder, and strategy developer, Dr. Ogbemudia is also recognized as a motivational speaker. Her appointment is seen as a strategic move by the Okpebholo-led administration to strengthen quality assurance in the state’s education sector.
Her new position is expected to help drive policy implementation, monitoring, and evaluation of educational standards across public and private institutions in Edo State.
The government has expressed confidence in Dr. Ogbemudia’s ability to lead DEQA into a new era of improved educational quality and accountability.
