The Coordinator, Office of the First Lady, Mrs. Edesili Okpebholo Anani, has commended Governor Monday Okpebholo for his outstanding achievements in the first 100 days of his administration. This was at an event organized to mark his 100 days in office, held at the Victor Uwaifo Creative Hub, Airport road, Benin City.

Mrs. Anani praised Governor Okpebholo’s policies and programmes, particularly those aimed at empowering women, and promoting their welfare. ‘I am here to represent the female gender. We are here to say thank you for what you have done in 100 days, for all the constructions and policies you have made. We thank you for the appointments so far, and for empowering our women.’

Mrs. Anani also expressed her gratitude to the Governor for his efforts in addressing insecurity and cultism in the State, saying ‘we no longer have to bury our children in their prime.’

She also praised the Governor’s empowerment initiatives, including his commitment to promoting the welfare of girls and women, encouraging their participation in the economy, and providing quality healthcare services.

Mrs. Anani however, pleaded with the Governor for women’s representation in governance, asserting that women are capable, dynamic, and ready to support the Governor’s causes.

Governor Okpebholo, in his address, reaffirmed his commitment to transforming Edo State through policies and programmes aimed at raising the standard of living, boosting the economy, and ensuring quality healthcare.

‘Looking ahead, the future of Edo State under my leadership is bright, as evidenced in the progress we have made together. With our economic development plan, we will prioritize agricultural infrastructure and investment in youths’ skills development as the State strives to become one of the leading economies in Nigeria.’

The Governor also highlighted his administration’s achievements, including the launch of an interest-free loan scheme for market women, farmers, and artisans, which will benefit over 5,000 people in collaboration with the World Bank.

The event featured the unveiling of Project SHINE, representing the five-point agenda of the administration. The event also included a lecture on practical governance, cultural display, and musical performance by Timi Dakolo.
Dignitaries drawn from the State Government, national, religious, and traditional rulers amongst others, attended the event.
