Gov. Okpebholo Approves Minor Shake-up in Edo Revenue Agencies

The Governor of Edo State, Monday Okpebholo, has approved a minor reassignment of key officials in the state’s revenue sector as part of efforts to strengthen revenue generation and administration.

In a special government announcement dated March 11, 2026, and signed by the Secretary to the State Government, Umar Musa Ikhilor, the government said the move was aimed at sustaining and enhancing the state’s revenue drive.

According to the statement, the current Chairman of the Edo State Audit Service Commission, Odior John Osirenimhe, has been appointed as the new Chairman of the Edo State Internal Revenue Service). He succeeds Otunba Oladele Bankole-Balogun, who resigned his position to pursue his political ambition ahead of the forthcoming elections.

Consequently, an Executive Director in the revenue service, Idiake Patrick Akhimien, has been reassigned as Chairman of the Edo State Audit Service Commission.

In another development, Victor Oamen Enemare has been appointed to replace Akhimien at the Edo State Internal Revenue Service.

The state government said the reassignments and appointments take immediate effect.
