Udomi-Uwessan Residents Applaud Okpebholo’s Infrastructure Drive During Project Inspection Tour
Residents of Udomi-Uwessan communities in Esan Central Local Government Area of Edo State have commended Edo State Governor, Monday Okpebholo, for what they described as significant developmental progress in the area within less than two years of his administration.
The commendation followed the governor’s two-day working visit to communities in the locality to inspect ongoing infrastructure projects and assess their level of completion.
Speaking with journalists in Udomi, a youth leader, Christopher Ogbe, said the governor’s administration had brought visible transformation to the community through key infrastructure and social development initiatives.

“We are very grateful to Governor Okpebholo. He is a blessing to our people. In less than two years, he has provided us with things we have wished for over the years. Roads are being constructed and critical projects are ongoing. We are proud of what he is doing for our people,” Ogbe said.
Another indigene, Christiana Oyemere, also praised the governor’s efforts, describing him as a compassionate leader whose policies have positively impacted communities across the state.
“Governor Okpebholo is a man with a good heart. We are praying for him because he always remembers us,” she said.

During the inspection tour, Governor Okpebholo explained that the visit formed part of a two-day working tour aimed at personally evaluating the progress of ongoing projects in the area.
According to him, the exercise was necessary to ensure that contractors adhere strictly to project specifications and timelines.
“I am here for a two-day working visit to inspect projects and see the level of work that is ongoing. I am satisfied with what I have seen so far, and we will continue to ensure that the people of Edo State enjoy the dividends of democracy,” the governor said.
Governor Okpebholo also attributed the progress recorded by his administration to the support and leadership of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, noting that improved federal support and funding have enabled states to undertake critical development projects.
Among the projects inspected during the visit were the ongoing construction of a medical school, a hospital facility, and major road projects aimed at improving transportation and boosting economic activities in the area.
The governor also visited the site of the Ekpoma Market currently undergoing reconstruction. The market was destroyed by fire during protests that affected parts of the area in January.
Governor Okpebholo had earlier assured traders and residents that the market would be rebuilt to modern standards to restore commercial activities and provide a conducive environment for business.
Community leaders, residents and government officials accompanied the governor during the inspection tour, which also provided an opportunity for direct interaction between the government and the people.
