Okpebholo Vows 2.5 Million Edo Votes for Tinubu, Says APC Growing Stronger

Governor Monday Okpebholo on Wednesday declared that Edo State is firmly in the grips of the All Progressives Congress (APC) ahead of the 2027 general elections, insisting that the party will deliver 2.5 million votes for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

The Governor was addressing party leaders and members of Africa Democratic Congress (ADC), Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Labour Party (LP) who joined the APC at a rally held on the grounds of Garrick Memorial Ground Ekenwan road in Benin City.

In a carnival atmosphere where the decampees pledged their loyalty and commitment to the party, Governor Okpebholo attributed the surge in support for the APC to what he described as visible and practical development across the state.

He said, “I thank members of the APC for the unity we enjoyed in the party. We have a good father in President Tinubu and we all stand here today because we are proud of him and ready to deliver Edo for APC come 2027″.

Projecting confidence ahead of the next election cycle, he added: “2027 and 2.5 million votes is sure for Tinubu. The president should relax and come to Edo to commission projects, not to campaign, as the state is sure and settled for APC.”

He maintained that Edo’s development strides are directly linked to federal support, noting that the administration’s achievements will speak louder than campaign rhetoric.

“All what we do in Edo State is practical governance and the people can see development. Every kobo spent in Edo State is gotten from President Tinubu,” he stated.

In a move that drew applause from crowd, the governor invited Arise Television anchors Oseni Rufai and Reuben Abati to tour projects across the state, expressing confidence that firsthand inspection would validate his claims.

“I invite Rufai and Abati to Edo State and will take them on a projects tour in the state. By the time I take them round for a few days inspecting projects, you will not only campaign but vote for President Tinubu in 2027,” he said.

The governor further noted that with 31 governors currently under the APC platform nationwide, the ruling party remains on a strong footing, adding that more political alignments are expected ahead of 2027.

Reaffirming his administration’s loyalty to the APC and the presidency, Okpebholo concluded that Edo State is politically secure for the ruling party, driven by unity within its ranks and sustained developmental efforts under his leadership.
