Egor Chairman Storms APC Mega Defection Rally

The Executive Chairman of Egor Local Government Area, Hon. Osaro Osa Eribo, on Tuesday joined party leaders and stakeholders at a massive defection rally of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Benin City.

The rally, held at Garrick Memorial School Park, attracted a large crowd of supporters and political stakeholders from across Edo State, as former opposition members formally declared their defection to the ruling party.

Many of the decampees cited ongoing infrastructural development, grassroots empowerment initiatives and administrative reforms across the state and local government areas as reasons for aligning with the APC. They expressed confidence in the party’s leadership and pledged support for its programmes.

Hon. Eribo described the development as a significant boost for the party’s grassroots expansion, commending the new members for what he termed their bold decision to join a progressive political movement focused on sustainable growth and inclusive governance.

He noted that Egor Local Government remains committed to people-oriented leadership in line with the broader vision of the APC in Edo State.

The event drew party faithful, youth groups, women associations and community leaders, with the large turnout seen by supporters as a reflection of growing public backing for the party’s agenda.

Observers say the rally further consolidates the APC’s grassroots presence and strengthens its political structure ahead of future electoral contests in the state.
