Okpebholo, APC Leaders Attend Idahosa Thanksgiving

The Edo State, Governor Monday Okpebholo on Sunday joined political leaders and associates at a thanksgiving service held in honour of late Charles Idahosa in Benin City.

The Governor was accompanied by Edo State APC Deputy Chairman, Sylvester Aigboboh; APC Esan Central Senatorial Leader, Gen. Cecil Esekhaigbe (rtd); and other senior government officials at the well-attended service on February 15, 2026.

The thanksgiving service, held at St. Peters Anglican Church, drew a large congregation of political associates, family members, former media colleagues, friends, and well-wishers who gathered to express gratitude to God for a successful burial ceremony.

Charles Idahosa, popularly known as Charlie Tempo, was a former Commissioner for Information in Edo State and a chieftain of the All Progressives Congress. He passed away on December 20, 2025, at the age of 72.

In his sermon, the officiating minister, Venerable Vincent Ayevbuomwan, urged the congregation to live righteously and impact lives positively, noting that death is a debt all must pay. He led prayers for the Idahosa family and for the repose of the soul of the elder statesman.

Special prayers were also offered for President Bola Tinubu, members of the Federal Executive Council, Governor Okpebholo and his executive team, seeking divine guidance, wisdom, and direction in governance. The cleric further prayed for improved security, economic stability, and sound policies to transform the lives of Nigerians and the people of Edo State.
