Edo Governor Approves Appointment of Dr. Ebojele Akhere Patrick as Chief Press Secretary

Benin City — The Edo State Government has officially announced the appointment of Dr. Ebojele Akhere Patrick as the new Chief Press Secretary (CPS) to the Governor. The approval was granted by His Excellency, Senator Monday Okpebholo, Executive Governor of Edo State, in a move aimed at strengthening government communication and deepening transparency across the state.

Dr. Ebojele Akhere Patrick brings to the role a robust and distinguished career in journalism, public administration, research, and academia. Widely respected for his professionalism, he has built an impressive profile spanning several reputable Nigerian media organizations. He served as the Edo/Delta Correspondent for Channels Television and also worked with New Nigerian Newspaper, Champion Newspaper, and Comet Newspapers.

According to the statement issued by the Secretary to the State Government, Umar Musa Ikhilor, Esq., Dr. Ebojele’s appointment reflects the administration’s commitment to improving communication channels between the government and the citizens. The government emphasized the need for clarity, transparency, and effective dissemination of policies, programs, and activities—an area in which Dr. Ebojele is expected to bring significant expertise.

Dr. Ebojele takes over from Mr. Fred Itua, who is expected to be reassigned to a new role within the government following a formal handover. The Edo State Government expressed gratitude to Mr. Itua for his contributions and service.
