    …Says Coalition of Desperate Politicians Can’t Deliver New Nigeria

    The Labour Party has issued a 48-hour ultimatum to its former presidential candidate, Mr. Peter Gregory Obi, demanding his formal resignation from the party following his alleged alignment with a new political coalition.

    In a strongly worded statement released by the party’s National Publicity Secretary, Obiora Ifoh, the Labour Party disassociated itself from the emerging coalition, describing it as a gathering of “power mongers, desperate and recycled politicians” who have no genuine interest in the Nigerian people.

    The party warned that the mantra “A New Nigeria is Possible” has been hijacked by individuals with questionable motives, insisting that the dream cannot be achieved through alliances with politicians who have, over the years, contributed to the nation’s decline.

    “We are aware of several nocturnal meetings between Peter Obi and some of our members, lobbying them to join him in his new party,” the statement revealed. “We are also aware that a number of them have declined to defect with him.”

    Labour Party emphasized that it has never been part of the coalition and remains committed to its own ideology and principles. It stated categorically that any party member found to be part of the coalition must resign within 48 hours.

    “Labour Party is not available for people with dual agendas or deceptive personas. We will not tolerate a situation where individuals have one leg in Labour Party and another leg in the coalition,” Ifoh said.

    He further stated that nearly 70 percent of Nigeria’s population are youths who are disillusioned with the old political order, and the Labour Party remains the only viable vehicle for ushering in the genuine transformation they seek.

    “These opportunistic politicians are only interested in relaunching themselves into the corridors of power. The new Nigeria that our youths are dreaming of cannot be built with them,” he added.

    The party reaffirmed its commitment to rebuilding Nigeria through a people-focused and transparent political platform, urging members to stay loyal and keep the party structure intact as preparations for future elections begin.
