Edo People Should Join Hands with Governor Monday Okpebholo to Develop the State… Put Politics Aside – Ohonbamu

The Commissioner for Information and Communication, Hon. Paul Ohonbamu has called on Edo People to now put politics aside and join hands with the elected Governor, Senator Monday Okpebholo to develop the state.

Speaking to Newsmen on the outcome of the Edo Election Petition Tribunal in Benin City, Hon Ohonbamu described Governor Monday Okpebholo as a God sent who will deliver the dividends of democracy wonderfully to the amazement of Edo people

While urging everyone to support the Governor, Hon. Ohonbamu, a former Majority Leader of the State House of Assembly noted that the governor need every one to succeed in his developmental plans for the state.

“It is now time for Edo people to put politics aside and join hands together with the elected governor, as affirmed by the Tribunal to develop the state, This is a man that is God sent to deliver the dividends of democracy to the people. He joined politics because of his passion to alleviate the plight of the people and when he became the Senator representing the Edo Central Senatorial District his footprints of achievements was every where. He provided the basic necessities of life for the people, such as water, roads and schools.

“This was the first time for the All Progressive Congress, APC to have a Senator in Edo Central since the inception of democracy in 1999 and it was obvious that this was a gift from God for the people because of his bold determination to change the narrative,” he noted.

Hon. Ohonbamu who further described Senator Monday Okpebholo as God intervention who was elevated from being a Senator to become the Governor of the state assured Edo people that Governor Okpebholo will do wonders and will perform more than the previous governors of the state.

“Senator Okpebholo was sworn in as Governor on the 12th of November and on the 13th he went to the bypass that the former governor Obaseki said was a federal road to inspect the bad portion and on the spot he gave a matching order to the contractor to return to work immediately. He also went to other places in the state on inspection and commissioned the construction of the first fly over bridge in the state, which has reached an advanced stage in barely a few months.

“Even before he became a Senator, Edo people can attest to the fact that he was a philanthropist who was always ready to meet the need and aspirations of the people as he gave motor bikes and other things to people, provided vehicles and support for the vigilante security in Esan land, helped the poor and did a lot for the people.

According to the Information and Communications Commissioner though, the Governor is a man that does not talk too much, but one thing that the people must know is that when he makes a promise, he is a man that keeps to his promise.

“What he has promised Edo people, he is going to do it. All he needs is the support and prayers of the people” the Commissioner added.
