The institute lauded his purposeful and focused leadership, which has already set Edo State on the path of progress and sustainable development.
Highlighting the key accomplishments of the Governor within his first 100 days, the NIPR recognized his swift interventions in critical sectors, including infrastructure, security, education, and healthcare.
Notably, the decision to build a flyover at Ramat Park, and the ongoing repair of the Benin-Auchi Expressway reflect his administration’s commitment to long-term development and economic revitalization.
The NIPR further applauded Governor Okpebholo’s proactive measures in tackling criminality and cultism in Edo State, as well as his dedication to strengthening security frameworks. His initiatives in recruiting teachers and improving healthcare services underscore a commitment to human capital development and the overall well-being of the people.
The Chapter emphasized that in just 100 days, the Governor has made significant strides that have laid a strong foundation for further growth while reinforcing public confidence in government. The recent presentation of the 2025 Appropriation Bill tagged “Budget of Renewed Hope for a Rising Edo” is a clear demonstration of his administration’s resolve to revive the economy and deliver the dividends of democracy to the people.
Dr. Abhulimen urged Governor Okpebholo to remain steadfast in upholding transparency and accountability, which are the hallmarks of good governance.
He also encouraged citizens to actively contribute to the growth of Edo State and Nigeria at large through honesty, hard work, and dedication to community progress.
As part of its recommendations, the NIPR challenged the Governor to embark on a massive renovation of public schools and primary health centers across the State, resuscitate pipe-borne water projects to enhance access to clean water, and establish a functional public transportation system.
The institute also encouraged initiatives that promote agricultural development for economic sustainability and grassroots development through an extensive road network.
To further promote good governance, Dr. Abhulimen recommended the monthly publication of the State’s income and expenditure reports to foster transparency, build public trust, and set a benchmark for effective governance nationwide.
The Edo State Chapter of the NIPR calls on all residents to work collectively toward making Edo State a beacon of hope, integrity, and innovation.
The statement concluded with a message of optimism: “Together, we can build a society that thrives on inclusivity and progress.”
