According to source who was witness to the event sent voice note to our correspondent, broke the news on Friday, calling on security operatives and related authorities to intervene to halt further incidents of kidnappings in the communities.

Egbunde Friday, a resident, was reportedly shot twice and killed, while two others were taken away by the assailants.

Another resident, Mr. Justice, who had previously been kidnapped and paid a 7.2 million naira ransom, was abducted again by the same perpetrators.

The recurring kidnappings in Ugbogi, Ugomoson, and neighboring communities have led to residents fleeing for safety, leaving the areas deserted with suspected Kidnappers targeting unsuspecting individuals, including farmers, commuters, and residents, while demanding millions of naira in ransom payments.

SP Moses Joel Yamu expressed optimism about the prompt rescue of the victims.

Recall that similar incidents occurred some time ago where three people were kidnapped, with one victim captured at Ugomoson and forced to pay a ransom of 6.7 million naira. Two others were kidnapped from Igbogiri, with their relatives paying 3.3 million naira in ransom to their abductors

This new incident highlights the growing concern about kidnappings in Nigeria, where victims are often subjected to paying hefty ransoms.

The police and authorities must take swift action to address this issue and ensure the safety of citizens.
